Christmas is approaching and with it nougat like the one Natursan proposes: nougat with gofio, honey, almonds and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 125 gr of chopped almonds (not ground)

  • 100 g of roasted millet gofio

  • 100 gr of honey

  • 75 g sugar

  • 100 g of chocolate coating

Directions

  • Put the sugar in a saucepan and heat it in the fire until it acquires the texture of caramel. Just at this moment, stir the chopped almonds well with a wooden spoon.
  • Put some baking paper on the worktop and let the dough cool down a bit.
  • Put this caramel and almond mixture in a large bowl and add the roasted millet gofio and honey. Knead it by hand until it forms a peel.
    Line a rectangular silicone mould or a milk brick broken in half with baking paper and put the gofio nougat dough, compacting it well and leaving the surface smooth.
  • Cover with more paper, cover and keep in the fridge for a few hours.
  • When the nougat has cooled down and has the desired shape it is time to melt the chocolate. To do this, put the covering chocolate in a saucepan and heat it over a low heat, always stirring with the help of a wooden spoon to prevent the saucepan from sticking.
  • When the chocolate is ready, take the nougat out of the fridge, carefully remove it and add the melted chocolate on top.
