Ingredients
180 grams of ointment butter (animal or vegetable)
1 and 1/4 cups of total sugar 250 grams
2 eggs
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon of grated orange peel
1 cup of gofio
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch of salt
50 grams of butter
3/4 cup total sugar 150 grams
3/4 cup of cocoa
Directions
- Put the butter and sugar in a bowl. Mix with a spatula until it forms a cream.
- Mix the eggs separately and add them gradually to the cream.
- Add the juice and orange peel and mix again.
- Sift the gofio, the flour, the baking powder and the salt and add it until it forms a very tender dough.
- If necessary, add a little more flour.
- Take it to the refrigerator and keep it cold until the dough hardens and can be worked.
- Take portions of dough and stretch them out to a thickness of half a centimetre.
- Cut the cookies with a circular cutter of 5 centimeters in diameter and place them on a buttered plate.
- Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 15 minutes or until they feel cooked.
- Remove and let cool.
- Chocolate bath. Put the sugar and the cocoa in a small saucepan.
- Take it to a soft fire stirring always until the butter joins with the sugar and the cocoa forming a cream.
- Leave a few more minutes and remove.
- Bathe the cookies with the chocolate bath when it is still hot because once it is cold it gets hard.
